| | 'Pace is the trick' - Interpol | ] | Okay...so I haven't used this thing is freaking ages...nearly 2 years I think. Sadly not a lot has changed. 1. Fucked off every job I was working when last I posted. I'm still employed casually and have heaps of free time which is sweet. Although, recently I have been feeling the financial pinch which blows, so I am going to have to get a new job, like a full time job soon. This makes me sad. Anyway, I am working at the Bayside PCYC doing Out of Hours School Care. I absolutely love this, I just wish there were a few more hours involved. I basically get paid to play. I get to look after some of the special needs kids on the holidays which is more challenging but also more rewarding. I don't think I could do this full time! Mad props to teachers and carers at special schools.
2. I ride a motorbike now. It's a CBR250rr. It's mad fun. I have my unrestricted licence, but I haven't got around to upgrading to a bigger bike yet. I might soon though. I should be able to sell this one for $5000ish which is nice. I just have to get around to replacing the flasher relay on the indicators so that they flash again because at the moment they are constant (which I maintain is far more awesome than blinking).
3. I just bought a new car. Pics here - http://www.toyotasurf.asn.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17588
4. I moved out of home almost 2 years ago. I moved in next door to the church. They moved out weekend before last which is sad, but I'll deal. Tanille and I live together in an awesome house. I'd love to buy it and do a few mods, but the house down the road sold for $750,000 so I don't think I will be able to afford it any time soon.
5. We have to cats now. The older one is Kiefer, he is about 18months old. The younger is named Domino, she is about 10 or 11 weeks.
I think that is about all to be honest... Might do a meme, just so I can do a cut.
( Ahh, now this feels like LJ ) |

I applied for a job recently as a Project Officer within the Queensland Police Department. My role would be primarily to work on Crime Prevention Strategies and to contribute to the police in that area by way of seminars, actions plans and the like. It sounds like a lot of fun and I really hope I get it.
( The Strokes )
The day after the Stokes, I had to drive Tanille to Inskip so that she could catch the barge to Fraser Island. For those who don't know, Inskip is past Gympie and therefore about 3 hours drive from here. I actually had a lot of fun on the drive - even the drive back on my own. I stopped in some small town for a skate and then I dropped in on my grandparents for a quick visit. They gave me my birthday present early while I was there - $100 slammers. I'm not sure if they realise I am going to use it to rent a porta-potty for my b'day bash (details to follow shortly).

| [ | music |
| | 'This Job is Killing Me' - The Walkmen | ] | Okay, so firstly, when I got home from work last night at about 12.30am, dad came out and apologised for being so "nasty." He didn't actually acquit me of any wrong doing, he just apologised for the way he dealt with everything. To which I said, "I didn't screw up the oven." To which he replied "I know, it looks like it has been there for ages." TAKE THAT COCK-FAG!
So, he has acquitted me of one of the three incidents so far. If he corrects his actions on of the two remaining I will take the count back to two. I figure Two apologies count for one error being omitted. As it stands though, we're still at three.
Work Work was so shit yesterday. I worked at the store from 8 - 11 and then at the GABBA from 3 - 11.15. That was a big day. I was retardedly tired at the end of it. Also, two of my staff members didn't show up and the one I rely on was replaced with a newbie. I had to work the first peak two staff down and with one newbie and another who is only barely competent. You stand there with a tap and a glass - how fucking hard is it to figure out what to do? After the first peak, I found one of my staff, she had gone to the wrong bar and since the supervisor there is about as useful as a penis is to lesbians she just put her to work. This chicks sheet clearly stated that she was NOT in her bar but in MY bar. Whore. To make things better, at the end of the night, I had to go over and help her count up because she is stupid. This is only her second night supervising, so I shouldn't be too hard on her except for the fact that she doesn't listen to me. I mean, she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to, but if she doesn't want my help she shouldn't ask for it! I'd love to say that I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I found out that I hold the record for best bar management. I'm the only supervisor in the whole bar to settle exactly even with no damages four games in a row. So anyway, she did take some advice and use pencil rather than pen because she makes a lot of mistakes. That made me happier. What really annoyed me is that at the end of the night when you count the spirits, you split the bottle in to 10ths. she had like 4.6 bottles of bourbon and wrote down 4.4, and she did that for all of them. Then she didn't want to fix it.
I dunno, she just annoys me.
After work I went round to the Church to see the choir. (For those of you who don't know, the Church is where Matt, [shit]Cal, Dave and Shane live. It is on church street and therefore called 'the church'). Only Cal, Loo and Shane were up. So I hung out with them for a bit and then came home to bed.
I will upload some pictures soon. |

| I HAVE THE INTERNET!! |
[Jun. 16th, 2006|01:18 am] |
Finally after about three and a half months, I have the internet back! I've had it for a few days now but I haven't been bothered to update. After not having the internet for that long, I don't really feel the need to update my LJ anymore. It's strange how you get out of the swing of it.
I've moved in to my new house at Kuraby. It's a pretty nice house, but it is in the middle of a hole. I mean, this housing estate is very nice, but if you drive in any direction for about 2 minutes, you find yourself deep in the heart of Working Class Australia. Just to give you an indication of that, there are TWO Bunnings stores here within about a 5 minute drive of each other. I live pretty close to that Big Gun thing at Underwood. There are lots of shops that start with the word 'Discount.' Like 'Discount Butcher,' 'Discount Pharmacy,' 'Discount Fruit Barn.' I'm not sure what to make of it yet.
The only real problems with the house are: 1. Not knowing where anything around here is. 2. Being ages away from my friends and girlfriend.
Apart from that, it's not too bad.
I'll update more later, but for now, I'm going to download some porn. |

| It's Been Too Long/Since I've Seen Your Face/ |
[May. 17th, 2006|10:54 am] |
Okay, it's been ages since I have updated, but I figured that I should, you know, instead of doing uni work.
Firstly, the new house I am in sucks because it is too small. But, we have found a permanent residence to move in to at the end of this month/start of next. Bad news for that is: It is in Kuraby I have to move again Heavy lifting Packing A year from everyone I know.
Also, on moving. Matt, Cal, Dave, Shane and Di have all just moved out together to Buranda which also sucks arse because that is ages from where I am now and even further from where I will be.
If this place at Kuraby sucks too much, I think I will be out of there pretty damn quickly. I don't know who I will move in with or where, but I don't really want to live in a house with shit people in a shit location. I'll have to wait and see though.
On to uni, I am ages behind which is fun. I think I will have to go part time or else I won't be able to do a very good study at all, especially not this late in the game. I have a 3000 word assignment due on Saturday which I haven't started yet, but it is only worth like 10% of my final grade or something like that. Still, I need to put some effort in if I have any sort of chance at getting a decent grade at the end. I think I might ask for an extension until monday. I'll see how much work I get done today though.
I went to the beat on the weekend after Loo's 21st. Both were actually a lot of fun. I pissed off one of Loo's friends good and proper. I was playing 'Where's Wally' with her signature book, except it was 'Where's BRAD!' and I just signed her book heaps. On one page, it said "this page is reserved for Loo's bitches." SO I wrote on it "BRAD! (I'm Loo's bitch). And this girl didn't find it funny. I did though, and that was the main thing. I mean, if other people laugh along with me, that's all well and good, but it's really just a bonus. I'm only entertaining myself.
What else? Ummm...I've got nothing really. Work is fine, two people quit. One I liked, the other I was sort of encouraging to quit.
I really have to do a poo now, but I just wanted to post something and let people know that I am still alive and that I do read your journals when I can, I just don't usually have time to comment.
EDIT 11.30: THERE'S AN INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL ON OUTSIDE! FREE LUNCH!! FUCK YEAH!!!! |

| 21st Birthday Ideas |
[Mar. 14th, 2006|03:11 pm] |
| [ | music |
| | 'Saturday Night' - Kaiser Chiefs | ] | Okay, my 21st birthday is in September, I'm now taking idea submissions. So, a few ideas to help you have ideas. 1) What did you do for your 21st/past birthdays (not really interested in what you did for future birthdays because that would be loopy).
2) What can I do for my 21st?
3) Where can I have it?
4) How can I raise funds to put on a bar tab?
I had one awesome idea today, but I'm sure it can be topped. I'll explain more about my idea after I have read the others and then what I decide to do, however... my idea will involve the celebrations starting at about 2pm on a saturday, but the official drinking will not start until about 7pm that night. Given that, the bar tab would be limited because I would need to put on a feed. It would be on a licensed premises after 7pm, so minors can get fucked. Minors would be able to attend the 2 - 7 part of the day if they so chose. This idea came from a TV show and probably wouldn't be as much fun as theirs was, purely because of cash and the law. So, what I am trying to get at, is who here would be able to spend the whole afternoon and night in the 1st anniversary of my 20th birthday? Also, how can I get in contact with everyone from school that I don't talk to anymore (with the exception of Woody and Armstrong, because I don't want them there...Finlay too). |

| | TV: Temptation, and I am killing it. | ] | ( stolen from Joddles. Pointless question meme. )
So, it's Oscar night. I didn't even know. Temptation is on in the background. They ask the audience a question and tell you after the break. The question was "Where did the name Oscar come from for the Oscars?" Some dude, he decided to start the awards night back in 1929 (interesting year considering most people were stuck in the depression) and he named it after his friend. Unfortunately, I can't remember either of their names. Although, he was famously quoted as saying, "If I had of known it would become this popular, I'd have named it after myself." Although, I might be wrong there. That may have been any of the awards nights that are around...but I'm gonna stick by my guns.
Over the weekend, we went to Cal's grandparents house at Burleigh Hds while they are away. I got fucking slammed and then left my pillow behind. I love my pillow. If you read dear_rove, Tara is one of my other pillows...but I wasn't really hugging it. Not today anyway.
The ads are done, the show is back, "it is believed that an academy librarian thought the statue resembled her uncle." Wonder what awards I am thinking of then.
So what else is new? Oh, I applied for a job. Sounds pretty interesting and pays really well. Title: Community Visitor Salary: $29.70/hr + 23% casual loading Purpose of the role: Regularly visit children and young people living in out-of-home care and to identify care issues and provide information and reports to the Commissioner in accordance with the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000.
I might not get it, because the job is for the Redlands area, let alone because more qualified people might apply. We'll see though. Spent a few hours working on the selection criteria. It was actually kind of fun.
Now I have a text book to read before I go back to uni. It's pretty think and I have to pretty much read it from cover to cover. I read one of the chapters toward the end just for fun. It was about indie music concert goers. It pissed me off because it defined me as a particular kind of concert-goer. What pissed me off more was that it was right. Anyway, I think that is all I have for now. |
